Driven by his passion for chamber music and his interest in young musicians, Salvatore Accardo founded the Accardo Quartet in 1992. Since its foundation, the Quartet has performed at major theatres and festivals in Italy and abroad, thus bringing to the international audience the most beautiful works for Quartets written by composers of all times.

Laura Gorna made her debut with the Accardo Quartet in the very year of its foundation, in 1992, playing “The Seven Last Words of Our Saviour on the Cross” by Joseph Haydn at the San Carlo Theatre in Naples.

EsTrio

Right from the start, EsTrio has captured the attention of audiences and critics as one of the best Italian chamber music groups, thus becoming a regular guest in the most prominent music seasons in Italy and abroad.

Particularly sensitive to the multifaceted world of women, EsTrio is committed to the discovery and promotion of female composers; the trio also frequently promote projects involving artists from mixed backgrounds, such as poetess Maria Grazia Calandrone, and actors Gaia de Laurentiis, Sonia Bergamasco, Luca Zingaretti and Bustric.

The name EsTrio comes from the merging of “Es” (the German E-flat, as well as the Freudian “Es”) and the word “Trio”. Together, the two terms evoke the word “estro”, which in the Italian and classic culture stands for “fantasy” and “inspiration”.

EsTrio has recorded for Fonè and Decca.

Orchestra da Camera Italiana

OCI-roma_ok.jpg

Ten years after the constitution of the high specialization courses at the Walter Stauffer Academy in Cremona, in 1996 Salvatore Accardo brought together in a string orchestra the best students and graduates of the Academy.

Thus was formed the Italian Chamber Orchestra, whose members’ shared background originates an unparalleled unity of expressiveness, technique and style.

Duo Laura and Elena Gorna

le-sorelle-gorna-a-primavera-da-camera-2-628x353.jpg

Laura Gorna, violin
Elena Gorna, harp

An unconventional instrumental duo, animated by vibrating and plucked strings: harp and violin explore a remarkable repertoire rarely heard in concert halls.

The two instruments are historically defined by opposing symbology: while the harp is closely linked to the iconography of the angels and the divine, the violin is identified by its virtuous and sulphureous aura.

The result of this combination amazes and enchants, creating new musical paths where the expressiveness of the violin, and its ability to convey the voice of the human soul, is supported by the tone and harmony of the plucked strings of the harp.
